Blackmagic Design UltraStudio 4K Mini

Blackmagic Design UltraStudio 4K Mini is a portable Thunderbolt 3 solution that captures, plays back and monitors broadcast-quality video. It offers a 12G-SDI input and outputs, HDMI 2.0b input and output, analog component and composite video, an XLR microphone input with phantom power, a headphone output, an SD card reader, an LCD and control buttons. It handles 8-bit and 10-bit capture up to DCI 4Kp60 and 12-bit up to DCI 4Kp30, and charges a connected laptop with up to 45 W.

One box for ingest, monitoring and archiving

UltraStudio 4K Mini is a portable professional solution for video capture and playback over Thunderbolt 3, 12G-SDI and HDMI 2.0. It supports common SD, HD, Ultra HD and DCI 4K workflows in a single compact device.

Connections for modern and archive sources

12G-SDI and HDMI are complemented by component and composite analog video, two analog audio inputs and two outputs, a reference input and RS-422. The front SD slot, microphone input and LCD speed up everyday work.

High image quality

The device works with 8-bit and 10-bit formats up to DCI 4Kp60 and with 12-bit video up to DCI 4Kp30. It supports HDR: static metadata and HLG and PQ transfer characteristics.

Microphone and headphones

The XLR input with 48 V phantom power, switched on in software, and the headphone output allow a quick audio check right at your workstation.

Thunderbolt 3 and charging

Thunderbolt 3 provides high bandwidth and can at the same time supply up to 45 W to the connected laptop.

Front panel with LCD and control buttons

The front panel with a color LCD preview, menu buttons and a spin knob keeps operation clear without opening software. It also carries the XLR microphone input, headphone output, volume control and SD card slot.

12G-SDI for Ultra HD and 4K

12G-SDI carries Ultra HD and 4K up to 60p over a single BNC cable. The connection is multi-rate, so it also works with older SD and HD equipment. The device has one SDI input, two program outputs and one loop output.

The rear has the power connector, Thunderbolt 3 port, USB-C, SDI input, two SDI outputs, an SDI loop output, HDMI input and output, a reference input, an analog component input, analog audio (two inputs and two outputs) and the Remote connector for RS-422.
