Angenieux Type EZ-1 30-90 T2 S35

The Angenieux Type EZ-1 is a unique, modular standard zoom lens with a zoom factor of 3x. When configured for S35mm cameras, the focal range and aperture are set to 30-90mm F1.9 / T2. By exchanging the rear lens group, the lens becomes a 45-135mm F2.8 / T3 covering an image circle up to 46mm diagonal for FF/VistaVision formats. User configurable PL, EF, or E mount. Available from Q4 2017.

Legendary lens manufacturer, Thales Angenieux, in collaboration with Band Pro Film & Digital Inc. and Jebsen Industrial Technology Co. Ltd., has prepared a brand new line of transfocals for 2017 called the Angénieux Type EZ Series. These are high-luminosity, lightweight zooms with a new, modular design ("Interchangeable Rear Optics" - IRO) for cameras with S35-size sensors as well as large-format devices

The new lenses are designed for cameras with Super 35 sensors as well as large, full-format and VistaVision formats. The new Angenieux Type EZ range fills the gap between photographic zooms and the high-end film transfocals of the Optimo and Optimo Style series. The result is a lightweight lens that combines action shooting capabilities, superior optical quality and affordability



By changing the rear optical element group, the lens can be converted from Super 35 format (up to 30mm projection) to FF/VistaVision format (up to 46mm). EZ Series lenses feature rugged metal construction and internal thermal drift compensation for constant focus even when ambient temperature changes. Focus, zoom and aperture can be precisely controlled with long travel rings and side focus gearing. Lens size does not change when changing focal length due to the precision internal mechanics. In addition, users can change not only the format (S35 or FF/VistaVision) of the lens but also the lens mount (PL, EF or E) themselves without having to send the lens to a service center

In the full-format configuration, the EZ Series lenses are suitable for RED 8K VV cameras or RED cameras with resolutions above 5.5K, as well as for ARRI Alexa (Open Gate), ARRI Alexa 65 (VistaVision mode) or full-format SLR cameras such as the Sony a7S Mark II, Canon EOS 5D Mark IV, 5DS, 1DX Mark II and others
