Product description

The Viltrox AF 56/1.7 E Air is a lightweight portrait prime for Sony E APS-C cameras. Its angle of view corresponds to about 85 mm on full frame, the bright F1.7 aperture gives soft background blur, and the approximately 170 g body makes it an easy everyday lens for travel, portraits and street work.

The 11-element, 9-group optical design uses 4 ED and 3 HR elements for clean detail and controlled aberration. The STM internal-focus drive supports AF/MF, EXIF communication and quiet operation for stills and video; firmware can be updated via USB-C.

On APS-C, 56 mm gives a natural portrait perspective close to 85 mm full-frame equivalent. Viltrox builds it as a light everyday prime: sharp, bright and ready for stills or video.

Sharpness, bokeh and cleaner rendering

The 11-element, 9-group optics include 4 ED and 3 HR elements, supporting crisp portrait detail, controlled chromatic aberration and soft blur at F1.7.

Quiet STM autofocus for video too

The internal-focus STM drive is fast and quiet. Viltrox highlights minimal focus breathing, helping framing stay steadier during focus transitions.

A lightweight everyday lens

The roughly 170 g body suits compact APS-C cameras. A protective front coating, metal mount and standard 52 mm filter thread make it practical in daily use.
