The AF 55mm F1.8 EVO for Sony E combines a versatile 43° field of view with APO correction, quiet STM focusing and hybrid stills/video controls.

Portraits and everyday stories
The 55mm focal length renders space naturally while gently compressing facial features and separating the subject from the background. The bright F1.8 aperture supports low-light work and smooth bokeh.
APO purity without distracting colour fringing
Thirteen elements in nine groups include two ED, two HR and one ultra-precision UA aspherical element. The design aligns colour wavelengths on the same focus plane and keeps high-contrast detail clean.

Fast, composed focusing
The lead-screw STM motor focuses quickly, accurately and quietly. Internal focusing preserves balance and suits hybrid video work.
Controls that stay out of the way
The barrel offers a programmable Fn button, AF/MF switch and a CLICK switch for stepless aperture-ring operation during video. Firmware updates run through USB-C.

A 0.16× maximum magnification captures close details while retaining the natural perspective of a standard prime.
