Tiltaing Left Side Advanced Focus Handle (F570 Battery) Type III - Tilta Grey

The Tilta Left Side Advanced Focus Handle is a left-hand side handle that turns a cage into a camera you can hold all shooting day. From it you pull focus with a Nucleus Nano motor, start and stop recording with the REC button and power accessories from the Sony F570 battery inside — 8 V over USB-C and 12 V over the DC output. This version attaches via a rosette and comes in Tilta Gray finish.

The Tilta Left Side Advanced Focus Handle (F570 Battery) is more than a grip. It is the power and control hub on the left flank of the cage: the focus wheel for the Nucleus Nano motor under your thumb, the REC button for start and stop under your index finger, and a Sony F570 battery inside that feeds the motor and the rest of your accessories. The handle rotates through 360°, so you set it to your hand rather than your hand to it.

Type III attachment: rosette

This version attaches to the cage via a rosette. The attachment is the only thing that separates the seven handle types — everything else is identical. Pick the one that matches the interface on the left flank of your cage; an overview of all seven types is below.

Focus and record under your thumb

The knurled wheel on the top edge drives the Nucleus Nano motor: you pull focus without taking your hand off the handle. Beside it sits the REC button, which starts and stops camera recording through an optional R/S cable, and the CAL button for calibrating the lens range. The LED ring reports status — green ready, red recording, flashing green means the battery is below 20 %.

A Sony F570 battery powers the whole rig

A Sony F570 or F550 battery slides into the bottom of the handle. From it the handle feeds the Nucleus Nano motor over the 8 V / 1 A USB-C output and other accessories over the 12 V / 1.5 A DC output. That saves hanging a separate V-Mount off the rig and runs far longer than the camera’s internal battery. The battery is not included.

Fitting the battery, step by step

Push up the latch on the bottom edge and slide the battery into the chamber until it clicks. The handle powers on and off by holding the REC button for three seconds. Note: the outputs are rated for 8 V and 12 V — connect only accessories with the matching voltage.

Ergonomic grip and wrist strap

The shape of the handle follows a closed palm and the surface is silicone, so it does not slip even in a glove. The wrist strap in the box keeps the camera at your hand even when your fingers relax — running alongside a subject or shooting handheld overhead, that is the difference between calm and nerves.

Aluminium alloy and stainless steel

The body is machined from aluminium alloy; the pins and screws are stainless steel. The handle itself measures 106.2 × 60.8 × 43 mm and weighs 204 grams without a battery and without the attachment adapter — negligible on a rig you carry in one hand all day.

Seven attachment types — which one to pick

The handle is made in seven versions that differ only in how they grip the cage or the accessory. Choose the one that matches the interface on the left flank of your cage:

• Type I — dovetail plate
• Type II — 1/4″-20 screw with two locating pins
• Type III — rosette
• Type IV — NATO rail
• Type V — rosette arm
• Type VI — extended NATO clamp
• Type VII — offset bracket with a 1/4″-20 screw and a quick-release lever

The Type V rosette follows the Tilta standard and fits some ARRI rosettes, but not all of them.

Which cameras

Tilta offers the handle for its cages for the Blackmagic BMCC 6K and BMPCC 6K Pro/G2, Canon R8, R6 Mark II, R5 C and C70, Fujifilm X-S20 and X-H2S, Nikon Z8 and Z9, Panasonic BGH1/BS1H and S5, RED KOMODO and KOMODO-X, Sony FX3 and FX30, a6700, a7 IV, a7C, a7S III and A1. What decides is always the interface on the left flank of the cage, not the camera model.
