The Tilta Nucleus Nano II Hand Wheel to DJI Ronin Control Adapter connects the Nucleus Nano II hand wheel to a DJI RS 2 or RS 3 Pro gimbal. It bolts onto the NATO rail of the gimbal body with two screws and the hand wheel clamps into it with its own NATO clamp. Two sets of pogo pin contacts let the controller sit at two heights; they also carry power from the gimbal battery.
The adapter solves the case where focus is pulled by a DJI Focus motor but should be controlled from a Tilta wheel. Without it there is no link at all between hand wheel and gimbal.
The adapter carries two sets of pogo pin contacts above one another, so the hand wheel can sit higher or lower — depending on how the gimbal is held and how much clearance is left around the pan motor. Besides commands the contacts also carry power from the gimbal battery, so the hand wheel charges itself while shooting.
The system drives Nucleus Nano II, Nucleus Nano and Nucleus-M motors and, through the optional receiver module, DJI Focus motors and the DJI RS 2 and RS 3 Pro gimbals as well. Camera settings can be changed on selected Sony, Canon, Blackmagic Design and RED models; the range of functions depends on the model and the firmware version.
