Tilta Cold Shoe Adapter for Rotatable Phone Mounting Bracket V2 - Black

The Tilta TA-PMB5-CS-B is the cold shoe adapter for the Tilta Rotatable Phone Mounting Bracket V2. On top it has a 1/4"-20 screw with locating pins that attaches it to the base of the bracket, underneath a cold shoe foot with a knurled nut that tightens it in the shoe. The phone then sits in the shoe of a camera, cage or handle just like a microphone or a light. Aluminium alloy and stainless steel, black.

The Tilta TA-PMB5-CS-B is one of the interchangeable adapters of the Rotatable Phone Mounting Bracket V2 — the one that puts it in a cold shoe.

1/4"-20 screw with locating pins for the phone bracket

The top of the adapter carries a 1/4"-20 screw and two locating pins. The screw turns into the thread in the base of the Rotatable Phone Mounting Bracket V2, the pins drop into the holes beside it and the bracket does not twist on the adapter even with a heavier phone. All versions of the V2 bracket share the same base, so the adapter can be swapped for its siblings with a NATO clamp, 1/4"-20 thread, 15 mm rod or handlebar mount.

Cold shoe foot with a locking nut

The underside is a cold shoe foot: it slides into the shoe on a camera, cage or handle and the knurled nut above the foot tightens it so the phone bracket does not wobble. Almost every body and cage has a cold shoe, so a phone used as a preview monitor or second camera needs no further part — just this adapter and the V2 bracket. It comes off by loosening the nut and sliding it out of the shoe, without tools.

The Tilta NATO system

A NATO rail is a dovetail profile the clamp drops onto from above and locks with a lever — no screwing, repeatable, with a safety catch against sliding off. Tilta puts it on cages, handles and arms and backs it with adapters: clamps with a joint for a monitor, adapters from NATO to cold shoe, ARCA or 1/4"-20 thread, rod holders and rails that add the NATO interface where it is missing. This part is one of them.
