The 18-300mm F/3.5-6.3 Di III-A VC VXD covers a wide focal length range from approximately 29mm to 480mm (35mm equivalent). It is designed for APS-C mirrorless cameras with Canon RF mount. Expected availability: from the end of September 2025.
The world's first 16.6x zoom lens for APS-C mirrorless cameras, it offers all the benefits of anall-in-one zoom lens for a wide range of photographic applications.
The carefully balanced optical system incorporates several special glass elements that enable magnification with the highest image quality. Resolution from the optical centre to the edges of the image remains consistently high throughout the entire focal length range.
The VC image stabilization mechanism helps to maintain a sharp image when shooting without a tripod or in low light conditions. ZOOM LOCK allows you to lock the zoom. As with other Tamron lenses for mirrorless system cameras, the filter diameter is 67mm.
BBAR coating prevents reflection and scattering of light hitting the lens surface. You avoid loss of brightness and contrast and prevent "ghosting". The BBAR coating also contributes to a natural colour rendering. Since 2019, the advanced BBAR G2 coating has been used.
The fluoride coating permanently protects the front lens from contamination. Oil and water droplets do not adhere to the surface, which is therefore very easy to clean.
Splash Protection
Tamron lenses have a weatherproof lens hood that optimally protects the sensitive interior from wind and weather. The robust outer shell is effectively sealed against moisture ingress at all critical points (e.g. between the focus ring and the bayonet connection). This ensures reliable operation even in the most adverse outdoor shooting conditions.
VXD autofocus
Thanks to the VXD mechanism, the lens has fast, quiet and precise focusing. VXD autofocusing is a world premiere: It is the first linear focusing motor developed by Tamron for superior autofocusing. The two VXD modules, which operate in a floating system and are controlled by electronic pulses, provide fast and accurate focusing on near and distant subjects. The new motor also guarantees improved AF tracking, for example when shooting sports. The autofocus works so quietly that you can shoot even in situations that require complete peace and quiet.
Tamron Lens Utility
The new "TAMRON Lens Utility" software has been developed specifically for configuring compatible lenses. The TAMRON Lens Utility can be operated using a computer by connecting the lens from its connector port via the TAMRON USB-C cable. Users can customize functions and update firmware through the lens. Using individual settings, the lens can be optimally adapted to the respective shooting situation, such as photography or video shooting.
5 Year Warranty
Tamron offers its customers a 2 + 3 year extended warranty program. To receive the special warranty certificate, the lens must be purchased through an official Tamron dealer. Proof along with the registration certificate is required to qualify for the 5-year extended warranty.
