The 11-20 mm F/2.8 Di III-A RXD lens (model B060R)is the ideal choice for capturing perspective and new angles. It islightweight and so compact that it is almost hard to believe that it isan ultra-wide-angle lens with an aperture of F/2.8. It is also Tamron's first lens for APS-C mirrorless cameras with a Canon RF-S-mount. In fact, it is so handy that it is at hand in every situation and is ideal for dynamic video recordings with a gimbal.Special optical glassensures optimally corrected, sharp, and detailed images. The short minimum focusing distance of just 15 cm at the shortest focal length and 24 cm at the longest focal length allows you to take impressive detailed shots. Regardless of the distance, the RXD (Rapid-eXtra-silent stepping drive) autofocus motor focuses accurately and quickly on the target. Focusing is almost completely silent, so there are no annoying operating noises during video recordings.

These lenses are designed exclusively for mirrorless cameras and cannot be used with digital SLR cameras.

RXD (Rapid eXtra silent Drive) technologyisbased on a stepper motor whose drive element precisely and quietly controls the angle of rotation; the sensor continuously determines the current focus setting of the lens. The RXD motor is so powerful that even videographers can continuously keep moving objects in focus.
Similar to LD, it prevents chromatic aberration and other defects. However, XLD is a much more sophisticated system that is mostly used in telephoto zooms.
Color aberration is a common optical defect that manifests itself in many ways. We often talk about so-called chromatic aberration, which occurs more frequently with wide-angle lenses. LD elements are made of special optical glass with extremely low light dispersion, which effectively compensates for color defects, especially noticeable when using telephoto lenses at their extreme position.

A fluoride coating permanently protects the front lens from contamination. Oil and water droplets do not adhere to the surface, which is therefore very easy to clean.
The BBAR coating prevents reflection and scattering of light hitting the lens surface. You avoid loss of brightness and contrast and prevent "ghosting." The BBAR coating also contributes to natural color rendering. Since 2019, the advanced BBAR G2 coating has been used.

Tamron lenses have aweather-resistant casing that optimally protects the sensitive interior from wind and weather. The robust outer shell is effectively sealed against moisture ingress at all critical points (e.g., between the focus ring and the bayonet mount). This ensures reliable operation even in the most adverse outdoor shooting conditions.
With internal focusing lenses, the length of the lens does not change during focusing and the filter ring does not rotate with it. This makes handling easier, especially with longer telephoto zoom lenses, as well as shooting with polarizing and gradation filters. Other advantages include a shorter focusing distance throughout the focus range, less light loss in the corners of the image (vignetting), and less aberration related to focusing.
The new "TAMRON Lens Utility" software has been developed specifically for configuring compatible lenses. TAMRON Lens Utility can be operated via a computer by connecting the lens from its connector port via a TAMRON USB-C cable. Users can update the firmware via the lens.
