The screen turns to face you

The fully articulating three-inch touchscreen flips to the front, so you keep the framing under control while filming yourself. For selfies and vlogs that is the difference between a hit and a cropped head.

Connections for better sound

An external microphone input lifts audio above the built-in mic; a headphone output and USB sit on the side. Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and NFC move the material to a phone.

Eye AF for people and animals

The 425-point hybrid system tracks the subject and holds focus on the eyes — for people and animals alike, in real time. Bursts run to eleven frames per second, so fast action does not get away.

The range covers the wide vlog shot and the close-up. Optical stabilisation in the lens steadies handheld work.

4K video

Resolution that survives cropping and later use, not just a preview on a phone.
