Sony SBAC-US30 SxS card reader/writer

The SBAC-US30 USB 3.0 SxS memory card reader from Sony allows you to transfer files from SxS memory cards to your computer and vice versa if your computer does not have an ExpressCard slot. The reader itself is equipped with an ExpressCard slot and connects to your computer via USB 3.0. The SBAC-US30 offers read speeds of approx. 440 MB/s from SxS PRO+ and SxS-1 cards and write speeds of approx. 350 MB/s to SxS PRO+ cards.

SxS cards on a computer without an ExpressCard slot

This reader, the successor to the SBAC-US20, transfers footage from XDCAM camcorders on location and in the edit suite. It is USB bus powered, so no AC adapter is needed.

The reader connects via USB 3.0 and also works with a USB 2.0 port. It works with Windows and macOS computers.

Adapters for other cards

With optional Sony adapters, the ExpressCard slot of the reader also accepts SD, Memory Stick and XQD cards.

For XDCAM camcorders

The reader is designed to transfer footage from Sony XDCAM camcorders that record to SxS cards, such as the PXW-X400, PXW-Z450 or PXW-Z750.

Just one driver

UDF-formatted cards only need the SxS UDF driver; the reader needs no other software.

No special driver installation is required, except for the SxS UDF driver needed to recognize memory cards with UDF formatting. Since it is powered via the USB bus, the reader does not require an AC adapter. The SBAC-US30 accepts optional Sony ExpressCard adapters for reading XQD (QDA-EX1), SD (MEAD-SD01), and Memory Stick (MEAD-MS01) media.
