The Canare BCP-VA3 is a straight-through crimp-on BNC plug for 75Ω video from the BCP-A series. It fits Canare V*-3C coaxial cables (such as V3-3C, V4-3C, or V5-3C); for third-party cables, the manufacturer specifies Belden 8281F.
The connector is truly 75Ω, not a 50Ω BNC adapted for video—Canare bases its entire line on this principle, because impedance mismatches cause the signal to reflect, increasing return loss. Here, return loss is 26 dB or more up to 2 GHz and 20 dB or more up to 3 GHz. Mechanically, however, the plug also fits into standard 50Ω BNC sockets.
The center contact is gold-plated, so its properties don’t change over time, and it’s held in place by a lock in the insulator to prevent it from rotating or sliding out. The body features an extended Canare sleeve that’s easy to grip with your fingers; an identification groove on the connecting sleeve indicates whether the connector is truly locked in place.
The plug is crimped, not soldered—you’ll need Canare crimping pliers with TCD-35CA jaws. Canare recommends the CB03 cable gland for this connector, or the CB02 in its short version.
We sell these individually; the manufacturer supplies this plug in packs of 20 or 100. Neither the cable gland nor the tool is included.
