75 Ω BNC feed-through panel jack with recessed flange: female BNC connectors on both sides of the panel, so cables simply plug in and no soldering is required. Predecessor to the Canare BCJ-JRUK 12G-SDI model.
The Canare BCJ-JRU is a through-panel BNC connector for 75Ω video: there is a female BNC connector on both sides of the panel, so you simply plug in the cable from one side and the cable from the other—no soldering or crimping required.
The socket is recessed —it is set back behind the flange face to protect it from impact damage. Canare uses this design for this series precisely because sockets on patch panels are most frequently subjected to impact.
If the socket needs to be isolated from the panel —for example, when it’s adjacent to audio, power, or data lines on the same panel—Canare uses the IU-7/16 isolation set for sockets in this series.
Note when selecting: Canare no longer carries this model, and in the current catalog it has been replaced by the BCJ-JRUK, redesigned for 12G-SDI. We do not apply the BCJ-JRUK’s specifications (return loss of 26 dB up to 3 GHz and 15 dB up to 12 GHz) to the older BCJ-JRU—the manufacturer has not published them for that model. If you require verified 12G-SDI operation, opt for the BCJ-JRUK, BCJ-JRUDK, or BCJ-JRUDBK.
