The 1/4" screw can face the monitor in any direction and is locked with the wingnut. The cold shoe adapter holds the camera firmly in the shoe.

SmallRig 1/4" Camera Hot shoe Mount with Additional 1/4" Screw (2pcs Pack) 2059 is a two-piece pack of cold shoe mounts. Each piece consists of a swivelling ball head, a hot shoe adapter, a 1/4" screw and a wingnut.

The cold shoe adapter attaches the camera tightly via the shoe, while the 1/4" screw can be mounted on the monitor in adjustable directions for different scenarios and locked with the wingnut.

The 1/4" screw can also be mounted on a shoulder rig with a 1/4" threaded hole. The mount is small, lightweight and durable.
