The Sennheiser EW-D SKM-S Base Set is part of the Evolution Wireless Digital series, engineered to deliver professional-grade audio performance with intuitive setup and operation. Designed for presenters, educators, clergy, and live performers, this system combines cutting-edge digital wireless technology with robust RF performance and flexible configuration options.

Operating in the 552–607 MHz UHF band, the system provides 2240 selectable frequencies arranged in an equidistant tuning grid, eliminating the need for complex frequency coordination and allowing up to 90 simultaneous channels in compatible environments. With a transmission range of up to 328 ft (100 m) line-of-sight, it ensures stable and reliable wireless coverage for professional applications.

The system delivers pristine 24-bit digital audio with an impressive 134 dB dynamic range and ultra-low 1.9 ms latency, ensuring transparent sound reproduction with natural dynamics and near-instant response. Intelligent Switching Diversity continuously monitors and selects the strongest signal path to minimize dropouts and RF interference.

The included SKM-S handheld transmitter features a rugged metal housing, a mute switch, and an interchangeable capsule design (capsule not included), allowing users to customize microphone performance for different applications. Bluetooth Low Energy integration enables full system setup, monitoring, and control via the Sennheiser Smart Assist App, allowing frequency selection, channel naming, and battery status monitoring directly from a smartphone.

The half-rack EW-D EM receiver features a high-contrast OLED display, intuitive menu navigation, and automatic frequency scanning for quick setup. It includes balanced XLR and unbalanced 1/4" outputs for flexible integration with mixing consoles and PA systems. Rackmount hardware and removable antennas support both portable and installed configurations.

With up to 8 hours of operation on AA batteries or 12 hours using an optional rechargeable battery pack, the system is optimized for long professional use in demanding environments. Note that this digital system is not compatible with previous analog Evolution wireless systems.
