The Nikon NIKKOR Z 85mm f/1.8 S is an S-Line portrait lens for full-frame Nikon Z mirrorless cameras. The f/1.8 maximum aperture and nine-blade diaphragm separate the subject from the background with soft, natural bokeh while the plane of focus stays crisp. The 470 g barrel is dust- and drip-resistant, and the quiet stepping motor suits video as well as stills.

The large-diameter Nikon Z mount gives the lens room for optics that excel even in natural light. The lens focuses quickly and accurately, and with the eye detection of Nikon Z cameras it keeps the eye sharp, whether you are photographing one person or a group portrait.

Bokeh without colour fringing

Colour fringing in out-of-focus areas is thoroughly suppressed and the edges of blurred areas are soft. Blur increases gradually from the plane of focus, so the subject stands out from the background naturally. Point light sources stay round even at the edges of the frame at maximum aperture.

Ready for work outdoors

The barrel is designed with dust and drip resistance in mind. The control ring can be assigned to focus, aperture or exposure compensation, and the electromagnetic diaphragm keeps exposure stable even during continuous shooting.
