The Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 80-400mm f/4.5-5.6G ED VR Lens is a professional-grade telephoto zoom lens designed for Nikon FX-format DSLR cameras, while also providing an effective 120–600mm equivalent focal length when used with Nikon DX-format cameras. Combining a broad zoom range with advanced optical technologies, this lens is ideal for wildlife, sports, aviation, nature, concert, and outdoor photography.

The sophisticated optical construction includes 20 elements in 12 groups, featuring four ED (Extra-low Dispersion) glass elements and one Super ED glass element. These specialized optical elements help minimize chromatic aberrations and deliver exceptional sharpness, contrast, and color accuracy throughout the zoom range.

Nikon’s Nano Crystal Coat technology significantly reduces flare and ghosting, especially in difficult backlit situations, helping produce clear and high-contrast images. The built-in Vibration Reduction (VR) system provides Normal, Active, and Tripod modes, enabling handheld shooting at shutter speeds up to four stops slower than normally possible.

The AF-S Silent Wave Motor (SWM) ensures fast, smooth, and quiet autofocus performance, while three focus modes — A/M, M/A, and M — provide flexible focusing control for both automatic and manual operation.
