The Neumann TLM 107 BK is a versatile large-diaphragm condenser microphone that combines cutting-edge technology with exceptional sound quality. Featuring five selectable polar patterns, ultra-low self-noise, transformerless circuitry, and intuitive joystick control with LED indicators, it delivers precise, natural sound for vocals, instruments, broadcast, and professional studio recording.
The Neumann TLM 107 BK embodies Neumann's philosophy of "Innovation based on tradition," combining classic proportions with a contemporary design and advanced microphone technology. Designed as a universal studio microphone, the TLM 107 offers remarkable flexibility and pristine sound reproduction, making it suitable for virtually any recording application.
At the heart of the microphone is a large-diaphragm condenser capsule capable of operating in five selectable polar patterns: omnidirectional, wide cardioid, cardioid, supercardioid, and figure-8. Unlike many multi-pattern microphones, the TLM 107 maintains a balanced and consistent tonal character across all pickup patterns, providing exceptional flexibility during recording and post-production.
The newly developed electronics, inspired by Neumann's flagship D-01 microphone, deliver outstanding transient response, exceptional linearity, and a remarkably low self-noise level of only 10 dB-A. The frequency response remains linear up to 8 kHz with a gentle high-frequency lift that contributes to a natural, open, and highly intelligible sound, especially for vocals and spoken word.
The microphone handles extremely high sound pressure levels of up to 141 dB SPL, expandable to an impressive 153 dB SPL using the built-in pad, allowing distortion-free recording of loud instruments such as drums, brass, and amplified sources.
For enhanced versatility, the TLM 107 features switchable low-cut filters at 40 Hz and 100 Hz, helping reduce unwanted low-frequency noise, proximity effect, and rumble. All microphone functions are controlled through an innovative rear-mounted joystick and LED display system, providing intuitive operation while keeping visual distractions away from performers.
Finished in elegant matte black, the TLM 107 BK is equally at home in professional recording studios, broadcast facilities, orchestral recordings, voice-over sessions, and live production environments.
