The Neumann TLM 107 is a premium large-diaphragm condenser microphone that combines maximum versatility, exceptional sound quality, and innovative control technology. Featuring five selectable polar patterns, ultra-low self-noise, transformerless circuitry, and intuitive joystick-based operation, the TLM 107 is a true all-purpose studio microphone. Its balanced sound across every pickup pattern makes it ideal for vocals, speech, orchestral recording, broadcast, podcasting, and instrument recording, delivering the natural and detailed sound quality expected from a modern Neumann microphone.
The Neumann TLM 107 represents a new generation of studio microphones, blending Neumann's legendary engineering heritage with innovative design and modern functionality. Created under the philosophy of "Innovation based on Tradition," the TLM 107 combines classic Neumann proportions with contemporary aesthetics and advanced electronics to provide an exceptionally versatile recording solution for professional studios, broadcasters, musicians, and content creators.
At the heart of the TLM 107 is a newly developed large-diaphragm condenser capsule paired with advanced transformerless electronics inspired by Neumann’s flagship D-01 microphone. This combination delivers remarkable transient response, outstanding linearity, and an exceptionally natural sound character across a wide range of recording applications.
One of the TLM 107's most impressive features is its five selectable polar patterns: omnidirectional, wide cardioid, cardioid, supercardioid, and figure-of-eight. Unlike many multi-pattern microphones, the TLM 107 maintains a balanced and consistent tonal response across all polar patterns, allowing engineers to select the ideal pickup characteristic without compromising sound quality.
The microphone exhibits a linear frequency response up to approximately 8 kHz, followed by a gentle high-frequency lift that adds openness and detail while preserving a natural sound character. Particular attention has been given to vocal intelligibility and the accurate reproduction of sibilants, resulting in clear, articulate recordings without harshness.
The acoustically optimized grille design effectively reduces plosive sounds and unwanted vocal artifacts, while grounded electronics and dual diaphragms help minimize the effects of dust and humidity on long-term performance. Neumann’s transformerless circuitry further enhances transparency, dynamic range, and immunity to interference.
With a self-noise level of only 10 dB-A and a maximum SPL capability of 141 dB, expandable to an impressive 153 dB using the attenuation pad, the TLM 107 is equally comfortable capturing delicate acoustic performances and extremely loud sound sources. Flexible low-cut filter options at 40 Hz and 100 Hz allow optimization for speech, vocals, instruments, and broadcast applications.
For the first time in a Neumann microphone, all major settings are controlled via an intuitive joystick interface. Selected polar patterns are displayed through illuminated pictograms within a chrome ring, while LED indicators provide visual confirmation of low-cut and attenuation settings, ensuring fast and convenient operation.
Whether used for studio vocals, voice-over work, podcasting, orchestral recording, string and brass instruments, broadcasting, or television production, the TLM 107 delivers exceptional flexibility and uncompromising audio performance.
