Black Mist 1/8 drop-in filter for the MOFAGE POCO adapter. It lowers contrast, holds back highlights and blooms them into a soft veil — the image takes on a more cinematic feel.

Black Mist lowers contrast and highlights within the frame to balance the tonal range between highlights and shadows. Light sources keep a strong centre and gain a pleasing glow around it.

A diffusion filter of this kind is also commonly used to soften wrinkles and blemishes and make a portrait more flattering. The grades are 1/4 and 1/8 — the effect roughly doubles as the grade number rises, so 1/4 is noticeably stronger than 1/8.

The glass carries an anti-reflective nano-coating that reduces flare and ghosting and is water- and oil-resistant — it cleans easily and copes with poor weather.
