The Manfrotto 357-1 is the complete adapter assembly: a robust aluminum receiver base with large locking lever and secondary safety pin, plus the famous 357PLV sliding plate (120 mm long, 80 mm travel). The plate can be fitted with either a 1/4″-20 or 3/8″-16 screw (both included) and has a retractable video pin to prevent twisting on pro camcorders. The extra-long travel makes it easy to balance heavy rigs with matte boxes, follow-focus, and long lenses in seconds. The receiver mounts directly onto any Manfrotto video head that uses the 357 system.
