The Manfrotto MK290XTA3-BH is a complete 290 Xtra aluminum photography tripod with a compact 496RC2 ball head, friction control, a 200PL-14 quick-release plate, and a carrying bag. Three sections, four independent leg angles, and a quick-release center column offer a working range of 40–170 cm, while adjustable lever locks help maintain stability even after prolonged use. The kit weighs 2.2 kg and can safely support 7 kg according to UNI/PdR 105:2021.

Quick Framing with a Precision Ball Head

The MK290XTA3-BH combines a sturdy three-section aluminum tripod with the compact 496RC2 ball head. It is designed for photographers who want to quickly change compositions, finely adjust the head’s resistance, and switch to portrait orientation without having to disassemble a multi-part setup.

Composition control and a stable base

496RC2 Ball Head

Spherical movement speeds up composition changes, independent friction control aids in fine-tuning, and a ±90° tilt range allows for quick vertical shooting.

Four leg angles

Each leg can be independently adjusted to 25°, 46°, 66°, or 88°. This allows the tripod to better adapt to uneven terrain and low-angle shots starting at 40 cm.

Adjustable lever locks

The three aluminum sections feature quick-release lever locks, whose tension can be readjusted after prolonged use. The quick-release center column extends the working height up to 170 cm.

What Exactly You’re Buying

This is the complete photography version with a ball head. It is not the MK290XTA3-2W video kit with a fluid head, nor is it the MK290XTA3-3W photography kit with a three-way head.

The 496RC2 head uses the 200PL-14 quick-release plate and features friction control. This model does not have independent panorama or tilt locks.
