Lilliput Q28 SFP Optical Module

A Lilliput SFP optical module for the 12G SFP+ slot of the Q28 studio monitor. It plugs into the slot on the back of the monitor and, together with a matching optical module at the other end of the link, carries the SDI signal over optical fibre – over single-mode fibre at 11.88 Gb/s for up to 10 km (6.2 miles), with SD/HD/3G/6G/12G-SDI support.

The Q28 has a built-in 12G SFP+ slot for an optical connection – this module for it is sold separately.

Long runs without compromise

Coaxial SDI cable has a limited reach at 12G. Optical fibre carries the picture for kilometres and is immune to electromagnetic interference – in a stadium, a large hall or an OB van.

Single-mode fibre

Transmission at 11.88 Gb/s over single-mode fibre for distances up to 10 km (6.2 miles).

SDI pathological patterns

The module also carries SDI pathological test patterns, the most demanding signals to transmit.
