Libec Q50B

Libec Q50B is a two-stage aluminium tripod leg set with a 100 mm bowl and the Quick Deploy system. Sliding the ring along the centre column opens the spreader and releases the upper leg locks at once, so the tripod goes up in a single move. Payload 45 kg at a weight of 3,0 kg.

One move and it stands

The Deploy ring in the middle of the tripod drives the spreader and the upper leg locks together. Move it up or down and the tripod opens or folds — no walking around it, no working through the locks one by one. On a set measured in seconds that is the difference between setting up and holding everyone up.

Payload 45 kg at 3,0 kg

The legs carry 45 kg, so a fully rigged ENG or cinema camera, and weigh only 3,0 kg. That combination saves your back over a full day of carrying and still keeps the rig from flexing or wobbling under the camera.

Height to suit the situation

The Quick Deploy upper section covers ordinary shooting heights on its own. When you need to go higher, pre-extend the lower screw locks to the length you want — the fast deployment of the upper section is unaffected. The range is 72,5 to 170 cm.

Dust, heat and wind

The lock mechanism is built dust-proof so sand cannot get into it; the manufacturer field-tested the set for a year in the Arizona desert. There is a weight hook underneath for added stability in wind, and the legs are shaped so fingers cannot be pinched when folding.

Ready out of the box

A mid-level spreader and FP-2B rubber feet are included, so nothing else is needed. The carrying handle is standard too — it adjusts in 90° steps and can be removed. The base carries 1/4" and 3/8" threads for a monitor or a light. The 100 mm bowl accepts third-party fluid heads; from the Libec range we recommend the LX10 Head.
