Nano-B — prism filter 82 mm, breaks the image sideways and multiplies it. It works best on portraits, music videos and festive scenes, where reflected lights and colours form a frame around the main subject right in the lens.

Reflections around a sharp centre

The prism breaks part of the image sideways, so displaced reflections appear beside the main subject. Turning it changes which way the image mirrors and how strongly, so one scene yields several compositions. The effect happens in the lens rather than on the computer, so it can be steered while shooting.

How many reflections appear and how far apart depends on the focal length — a wide angle gives a different picture from a telephoto. It works best at apertures between 2.8 and 7.0; stopped far down, the prism drawing fades.
