The set brings together the filters most often used with this kit, so they need not be bought one at a time and all mount the same way. Exactly what is included is listed below. The filters can be used individually, depending on what the scene calls for.

The surface repels water and grease, so drops run off and fingerprints wipe away without smears; the coating also stands up to cleaning in the field.

The three pieces of glass cover three different jobs: the UV filter protects the front element and takes the bluish cast out at altitude, the polariser removes reflections off non-metallic surfaces, and the ND1000 takes away ten stops, so even in daylight you can expose for tens of seconds and the water in a waterfall melts into a smooth sheet.

According to the maker, the frame is 1.9 to 3.5 mm thin, so even a wide-angle lens from sixteen millimetres stays free of dark corners.
