Quick start with the Apple DockKit

PTF Mode: In PTF mode, the camera image tracks the gimbal’s movements in the horizontal and vertical directions and remains stable during rotation. This mode is ideal for capturing shots looking up, down, and at diagonal angles.

FPV Mode: In FPV mode, all three axes of the gimbal track the movement of the main body. This is ideal for dynamic shots of static objects, such as landmarks, buildings, or statues.

PF: The shot tracks only the gimbal’s horizontal movement and remains stable during vertical and rotational movement. This is ideal for shooting in a horizontal direction or while moving around an object.

SpinShot: Control the shot’s rotation by moving the joystick left or right to create dynamic shots. Great for zooming in, zooming out, and shooting from higher angles.

360° unlimited rotation

The Osmo Mobile 8P’s rotation axis supports unlimited 360° horizontal rotation, giving you the freedom to capture smooth panoramic photos and videos from any angle. Combined with Smart Tracking, the gimbal can lock onto and continuously track moving subjects.

Low-angle shots

Tilt the horizontal axis forward to capture shots from a lower angle for a creative perspective. The Multifunctional Module 2 allows the gimbal to automatically track children, cats, dogs, and other subjects.

Slow Shutter Mode: This mode excels at capturing nighttime shots or in low-light conditions and allows you to achieve artistic effects.

Action Shots: Track fast movements. Select an athlete or dancer, and the gimbal will quickly adjust to keep them in frame, ensuring smooth footage even during dynamic moments.

DynamicZoom: Use the Move In and Move Out modes for dramatic zooming in and out, giving your shots a cinematic dynamic like a blockbuster movie.

Widescreen: Shoot directly in the classic 2.35:1 aspect ratio and give your footage a cinematic look. You’ll get widescreen footage right from the start, so you don’t need to edit or crop it later.

Gesture Control

In the Mimo app, enable gesture control and select Follow & Shoot. Then make a “V” gesture or open your palm to activate ActiveTrack and start recording.

Composition Assist

In ActiveTrack mode, enable Composition Assist and use the composition grid to help you position the subject correctly in the frame and achieve a professional composition.
