Atomos Sun Dragon 5m with diffuser

The Atomos Sun Dragon 5m with diffuser (ATOMSND002) is a lightweight and flexible professional light: a 5-meter-long, 3-cm-wide 80W RGBAW LED strip that can be run along the set, suspended, or shaped to provide soft lighting without spot-like micro-shadows. This version features built-in 30% diffusion and delivers up to 2,000 lm; the manufacturer specifies a CRI Ra ≥97, TLCI ≥96, and SSI up to 91 across a color temperature range of 2,000–20,000 K. The strip itself has an IP68 rating for submersion up to 1 m, but the control unit is not waterproof. The included controller with a display allows for brightness and color adjustment, as well as control via DMX/CRMX, Ethernet with Art-Net 4/sACN, and a mobile app; power can be supplied via a power adapter or a compatible V-Mount battery.

Soft light that adapts to the scene

A flexible 5-meter light strip with built-in 30% diffusion creates a continuous line of light. With a power consumption of 80 W and an output of up to 2,000 lm, it can serve as a soft key light, contour light, or accent light in spaces where a traditional panel won’t fit.

Lighting Around the Scene

The strip, approximately 3 cm wide, can be routed around a prop, suspended above a scene, or curved into an arc with a radius of at least approximately 30 cm. The high-density LED layout helps create an even glow without distracting micro-shadows. The light strip weighs no more than 1 kg, and its IP68 rating allows for brief submersion to a depth of 1 m; protect the controller, connectors, and power supply from water.

Color for Precise Scenes

The five-color RGBAW LEDs cover a color temperature range of 2,000–20,000 K; the manufacturer specifies a CRI Ra of at least 97, a TLCI of at least 96, and an SSI of D56 88 / tungsten 91. The light supports color modes, simulation of light sources and gels, and lighting effects; brightness can be finely adjusted in 0.1% increments. The built-in diffuser softens the light output evenly along the entire length.

On-site and Network Control

The included aluminum control unit with a color display offers direct settings as well as connections for wired DMX, wireless CRMX, and Ethernet with Art-Net 4 or sACN. Control via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi in the app is also available, as is integration with select Atomos monitors via AirGlu. For plug-free operation, a compatible 14.4–28.8 V V-Mount battery can be used; a AC power adapter is included in the package.

Diffuser Version

The integrated diffuser provides a softer and more uniform light character. Choose this version when you want to seamlessly integrate the light strip into a scene or subtly illuminate people and objects.
