VAXIS STORM 3000 TX

The stand-alone Vaxis Storm 3000 transmitter sends uncompressed 1080p60 with under 1 ms latency up to 1000 m. 3G-SDI and HDMI inputs, SDI loop, encryption, timecode, and power from a V-Mount battery or via LEMO.

The Storm 3000 transmitter adds another camera to an existing Storm system or replaces the transmitter in a kit. It takes the signal over 3G-SDI or HDMI, passes it on via SDI loop to an on-camera monitor and sends it uncompressed with under 1 ms of delay. Multicast serves any number of receivers.

Camera connections

3G-SDI and HDMI inputs plus an SDI loop output for an on-camera monitor. It carries embedded audio, timecode and metadata and supports ARRI ALEXA Mini instant playback.

Cooling and toughness

A metal body with active cooling and a bright OLED display lasts through full shooting days, and recessed ports protect the connectors.

No delay, no compression

Storm 3000 does not send a compressed stream but a full-quality image with under 1 ms of delay. The focus puller can work from a wireless monitor as confidently as over a cable.

Digital encryption protects the link from eavesdropping.

5 GHz band

Licence-free 5.1–5.9 GHz operation with 40 MHz channels.

Storm 3000 at a glance. Up to 1 km range, zero-delay playback and six improvements over the previous generation – better performance, functions and structure.

1000 metres of range. The more robust signal loses far less image quality at extreme distance, so Storm 3000 handles a football stadium or a big production.

Professional mode. One frame less delay than in regular mode – for news, sports and other live broadcasts.

Protected ports. The receiver has two SDI outputs, the transmitter an SDI input and loop output; recessed connectors withstand knocks.

Antenna cover. Protects the most frequently damaged part of the system and extends the life of every antenna, with nothing to assemble.

Blade antennas. The new patented antennas are more durable and practical; the kit includes eight of them.
