For distant subjects

The 500 mm focal length with a 5° angle of view brings in subjects you cannot get closer to – in the landscape and in the night sky. Focusing is manual, so you decide exactly where the focus falls.

MC multi-layer coatings

Optics with ED glass and multi-layer coatings.

5° angle of view

500 mm focal length for distant subjects.

All-metal body

The lens body is made entirely of metal.

ED glass and MC multi-layer coatings

The optical design of 8 elements in 5 groups uses a large ED glass that suppresses chromatic aberration, plus MC multi-layer coatings. The 12-blade aperture adjusts from F6.3 to F32.

Tripod collar with foot

The lens comes with a tripod collar with a foot for mounting on a tripod or tripod head. The all-metal body weighing 1564–1617 g thus rests on the tripod, not on the camera.

82 mm filter thread

The 82 mm front thread accepts standard screw-in filters. A metal lens hood and front and rear lens caps are included.

Manual focus from 3.3 m

The lens is focused by hand with a minimum focus distance of 3.3 m. A follow focus can be fitted to the focus gear ring for smooth, repeatable focusing from a tripod.
