Tilta Top Protection Plate for Fujifilm X100VI - Black

The Tilta Top Protection Plate is a thin aluminum-alloy top protection plate for the Fujifilm X100VI. It covers the top of the body around the hot shoe, weighs 12.5 g and doubles as the base for the Tilta TA-T70-TB thumb bracket. Made for travel and rougher conditions, where the top of the camera picks up the most scratches. The black finish matches the black X100VI body.

The Tilta Top Protection Plate for Fujifilm X100VI is part of the Vintage Camera Cage series for the X100VI: a top protection plate that covers the top of the body while leaving the dials, shutter release and hot shoe free. On its own it protects; with the thumb bracket from the same series it also changes how the camera is held.

Protection for the top of the body

The plate is machined from aluminum alloy to the shape of the X100VI top and sits on it along its whole length. It covers the edge around the hot shoe — the spot that suffers most when the camera hangs on a strap or gets set down on a table. Only a few millimetres thick and 12.5 g: you will not notice it on the camera, but it takes the scratches and small knocks instead of the paint. The shutter speed and exposure compensation dials, the shutter release and the hot shoe stay fully accessible.

Base for the thumb bracket

The Tilta TA-T70-TB thumb bracket slides into the plate — without the top protection plate it cannot be mounted on the X100VI. Together the two parts make up the Top Mounting Kit and are part of the Vintage Camera Cage Travel Kit. So the plate is not just a cover: it is the mounting interface on top of the camera. It mounts with the included T6 Torx key and comes off just as quickly when you want the body bare.

The Tilta cage system

A Tilta cage is only the start: every series has parts designed for the camera body — top handles, side handles with a REC button, HDMI and USB-C cable clamps, battery plates, 15 mm rod holders, lens adapters and ARCA or NATO interfaces. The parts share 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 threads with locating pins, NATO rails and cold shoes, so they combine across series. This part is one of them.
