The Tilta Hot Shoe Thumb Bracket for Fujifilm X100VI is a small part from the Vintage Camera Cage series that fixes the well-known weakness of compacts: the X100VI body is low and the right thumb has nowhere to rest. The thumb bracket gives it a level surface above the rear dial, and the grip changes more than you would expect from 7.5 g.

Thumb bracket in the hot shoe

The thumb bracket is machined from aluminum alloy and measures 69.7 × 34 × 12.5 mm. It slides into the hot shoe and extends back over the rear of the body, so the thumb rests on the surface above the screen instead of pressing on the dial or buttons. The camera sits more firmly in one hand, the other stays free for the aperture ring, and longer handheld exposures shake less. For travel shooting, with the X100VI hanging on a strap all day, it is the smallest accessory with the biggest effect.

Mounts through the top protection plate

The thumb bracket does not mount directly into the camera hot shoe: it needs the Tilta TA-T70-TPP top protection plate, which holds it in the hot shoe and protects the top of the body at the same time. Tilta sells both parts together as the Top Mounting Kit (TA-T70-TMK), and the Base Kit and Travel Kit of the Vintage Camera Cage already include the thumb bracket. If you do not have the plate, count it as a required add-on.

The Tilta cage system

A Tilta cage is only the start: every series has parts designed for the camera body — top handles, side handles with a REC button, HDMI and USB-C cable clamps, battery plates, 15 mm rod holders, lens adapters and ARCA or NATO interfaces. The parts share 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 threads with locating pins, NATO rails and cold shoes, so they combine across series. This part is one of them.
