Product description

The Tilta 7pin–7pin connection cable (18 cm) daisy-chains two motors of the Nucleus-M wireless lens control system: from the free 7pin port of the first motor it carries power and communication to the second. The first motor in the chain must be fed by a P-Tap to 7pin or 3pin to 7pin cable; further motors only need this cable. It comes in two lengths, 18 and 55 cm; this is the 18 cm version.

The 7pin–7pin connection cable is the link that lets the Nucleus-M system grow: every additional focus, iris or zoom motor connects to the previous one with exactly this cable and needs no source of its own. The 18 cm version has two straight 7pin connectors (male) and a black rubber jacket.

Power and data from motor to motor

The cable carries power and communication both ways, so the second motor in the chain gets power and commands from the FIZ hand unit or hand grips without a separate feed running to it. It plugs into the free 7pin port of the first motor and any port of the second; a third motor connects the same way. The chain always starts with a P-Tap to 7pin or 3pin to 7pin power cable — this connection cable only passes power on. The cable comes in two lengths: 18 cm for motors close together and 55 cm for wider spacing on the rods — this is the 18 cm version.

Construction

Both connectors are straight 7pin males, the lead has copper cores in a rubber jacket and aluminum connector shells; the cable is all black. It belongs to first-generation Nucleus-M motors; Nucleus-M II has its own connection cables WLC-T06-7P-30 and WLC-T06-7P-50.

The Tilta Nucleus-M system

Nucleus-M (WLC-T03 series) is wireless lens control: motors on 15/19 mm rods turn focus, iris and zoom, the FIZ hand unit or hand grips with a wheel drive them remotely, and power runs over 7-pin cables — from a P-Tap plate or daisy-chained motor to motor. The WLC-T03 parts combine: motor gears, cables, grip adapters, bridge and case all belong to the same system, including this one.
