Tilta Modular 15mm LWS Baseplate Type I - Titanium Gray

The Tilta Modular 15mm LWS Baseplate Type I is a modular baseplate for 15 mm rods: a universal plate with dovetail and a removable ARCA receiver in one. A caged camera with an ARCA plate moves from a DJI Ronin S gimbal to the rods in moments; with the receiver removed, the cage bolts on directly with two 1/4"-20 screws. Titanium gray.

The Tilta Modular 15mm LWS Baseplate Type I is the foundation of a 15 mm rod rig for a camera that alternates between gimbal and tripod. The set combines the Universal 15mm LWS Baseplate with the Type I adapter — an ARCA receiver that can be taken off.

ARCA receiver: from gimbal to rods and back

The top of the plate is an ARCA receiver with a lever. A caged camera with an ARCA plate therefore moves between a DJI Ronin S series gimbal and the rod rig without any re-screwing — the plate stays on the gimbal, the receiver on the baseplate. The receiver is held by two screws and can be removed; the cage or another camera system then bolts straight to the plate with two 1/4"-20 screws. Some Manfrotto/ARCA quick release plates may not fit the receiver.

1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 threads underneath

The underside carries 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 threads, so a wide range of tripod quick release plates fits — Manfrotto, ARCA and others. The plate is made of aluminium alloy and stainless steel, keeps its shape under heavier builds and in titanium gray matches Tilta cages of the same colour.

15 mm rods and Tilta dovetail

A pair of 15 mm rod holders (LWS standard, 60 mm spacing) carries the follow focus, matte box, lens support or motor mounts. Underneath, the plate sits on Tilta Standard dovetails: slide it on, lock it with the lever and slide it back and forth on the dovetail while balancing, without taking the camera off.

The baseplate holds the 15 mm rods (LWS standard, 60 mm spacing) that carry the follow focus, matte box, lens support and motor mounts. Tilta builds it modularly: the Universal 15mm LWS Baseplate carries the rods and the dovetail, adapters Type I to III add ARCA, Manfrotto or the caged camera directly. The Modular Baseplate Type I is the ready-made set of plate and adapter with an ARCA receiver.
