The Tilta HDMI Cable Clamp for Sony a9 III is an HDMI cable clamp for the Tilta cage for the Sony a1 II and a9 III, in the version for the Sony a9 III. It screws to the side of the cage and firmly holds the Tilta HDMI male to HDMI female adapter cable, so the cable does not come loose while shooting and the camera connector does not carry the pull of the cable. The Tilta HDMI Cable Clamp for Sony a9 III (TA-T66-CC2-B) is a part of the TA-T66 series for the Sony a1 II and a9 III: a clamp that secures the HDMI cable on the cage and protects the camera port.

HDMI cable clamp on the side of the cage

The clamp screws to the side of the Tilta Full Camera Cage for the Sony a1 II and a9 III — in this version where the Sony a9 III has its HDMI port. It is designed for the Tilta HDMI male to HDMI female adapter cable: the short cable plugs into the camera, the clamp grips it on the cage and the cable to the monitor or recorder connects to its free end. The included 2.5 mm Allen key is all it takes to mount and tighten the clamp.

The cable stays put, the camera port stays at rest

The pull of the longer cable to the recorder is thus carried by the clamp and the cage, not by the socket in the camera body. The HDMI cable neither loosens nor falls out while shooting and the port of the Sony a9 III is protected from being broken out — most valuable when recording to an external recorder, where a signal drop means a lost take. The clamp is meant for the Tilta cable; most third-party HDMI cables cannot be clamped in it directly.

The Tilta cage system

A Tilta cage is only the start: every series has parts designed for the camera body — top handles, side handles with a REC button, HDMI and USB-C cable clamps, battery plates, 15 mm rod holders, lens adapters and ARCA or NATO interfaces. The parts share 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 threads with locating pins, NATO rails and cold shoes, so they combine across series. This part is one of them.
