Tilta Float System Baby Pin Docking Adapter

The Tilta GSS-T01-PDA docking adapter adds a standard 5/8" (16 mm) baby pin to the Tilta Float handheld gimbal support system. Between takes the whole rig can be parked on a stand, a C-stand or in the Float docking station without taking the vest off or breaking the rig down. A collar with a locking lever holds it firmly and releases in one movement.

The most awkward part of working with a Float is putting it down. The baby pin adapter turns that into a single movement: the rig hangs on a stand and stays ready for the next take.

Standard 5/8" baby pin

The pin is the ordinary 5/8" (16 mm) baby pin size used by stands, C-stands, magic arms and studio mounts. The adapter therefore needs nothing of its own — it fits the gear that is already on set.

Collar with a locking lever

The adapter goes on with a collar and locks with a lever. The lever is worked one-handed, so the camera does not have to be put down and no Allen key has to be found. Releasing the lever slides the adapter or takes it off.

Parking between takes

The rig with the gimbal can be hung on a stand and left exactly as it is — balanced and ready. There is no packing back into the case and no rebalancing, which costs minutes after every break.

Where it belongs on the Float

The adapter is fitted to the Tilta Float at the point where the rig is hung on a stand. It complements the Tilta Float System Docking Station (GSS-T01-DS), which attaches to a stand through exactly this baby pin connection and holds the post, the vest and the arm together.
