Tilta ARRI-Standard Rosette Adapter for Nucleus-M FIZ Hand Unit

The Tilta ARRI rosette adapter for the Nucleus-M FIZ hand unit is a flat aluminum part that screws to the back of the hand unit and gives it a standard ARRI rosette. The unit then hangs on a monitor cage, an arm or any rosette mount, and the focus puller doesn't have to hold it. At just 6.4 mm thick it adds nothing to the unit's bulk.

The ARRI rosette adapter for the FIZ hand unit gives the Nucleus-M hand unit a fixed spot on the rig. The ARRI rosette is the most common interface for grips and arms, so the unit fits next to the monitor, on a tripod or on a cart — wherever a rosette already is.

On the back of the hand unit

The adapter screws to the back of the Nucleus-M FIZ hand unit and gets in the way of neither the controls nor the battery compartment. The ARRI rosette at its end mates with the counterpart on a monitor cage, an arm or a cart mount and locks at the desired angle when tightened — the unit then sits tilted so the display and wheel are visible without lifting a hand. Removal is a matter of one rosette screw; the adapter can stay on the unit permanently.

Flat, light aluminum part

The adapter body is aluminum alloy in gunmetal gray, the fasteners stainless steel; the whole part measures 70 × 44.5 mm and is only 6.4 mm thick, so the unit stays compact with it even in the foam cutout of the case. The ARRI rosette is standard size and fits monitor mounts, arms and grips with this interface from Tilta and other makers. The adapter is meant for the first-generation Nucleus-M FIZ hand unit; Nucleus-M II has its own mounts.

The Tilta Nucleus-M system

Nucleus-M (WLC-T03 series) is wireless lens control: motors on 15/19 mm rods turn focus, iris and zoom, the FIZ hand unit or hand grips with a wheel drive them remotely, and power runs over 7-pin cables — from a P-Tap plate or daisy-chained motor to motor. The WLC-T03 parts combine: motor gears, cables, grip adapters, bridge and case all belong to the same system, including this one.
