The Tilta CT08 combines a 75 mm fluid head with three-stage carbon fiber legs in one set for film and documentary work. Counterbalance has eight steps and balances up to 8 kg, while drag is set in four steps separately for tilt and pan. The filament wound carbon legs lock with levers, carry retractable metal spikes and lift the camera from 250 mm to 1800 mm. Snow Camo finish.
The CT08 Cine Tripod is Tilta’s first own tripod series: a 75 mm fluid head and three-stage carbon fiber legs in one set that carries anything from a light mirrorless body to a cine camera. The head is CNC-machined from aerospace-grade aluminium alloy, the legs are filament wound carbon fiber.
Instead of the usual three positions — high, mid and low — the CT08 offers four leg spread angles. On uneven ground and in tight spaces the height levels out faster and the tripod goes all the way down. The lowest working height is 250 mm, the highest 1800 mm.
The legs are filament wound rather than made from ordinary carbon cloth, so they take more load at the same weight. Tubes measure 36, 32, 28 and 24 mm and lock with levers, which is faster and firmer than ring locks. At a 22.5° spread the legs carry 75 kg, at 85° still 12 kg.
Each leg ends in a rubber foot that protects delicate floors. A couple of twists and a metal spike comes out for mud, sand, grass, rock or ice. No second set of feet to carry and nothing to screw on.
Counterbalance has eight steps (1–8) and balances rigs up to 8 kg. Drag is set separately for tilt and for pan, four steps on each axis. The head tilts from +90° to −60° and pans a full 360°, so a panoramic move happens in one go.
The head is CNC-machined from aerospace-grade aluminium alloy in Tilta’s own factory, from the first part to final assembly. That is where the accuracy comes from, and why damping stays even across the whole tilt travel — on screen it reads as a calm move with no jolt at either end.
The CT08 comes in three finishes: Space Gray, Snow Camo and Forest Camo. The camouflage patterns are not wraps but a dense, highly durable coating developed for this series — it does not peel and takes contact with rock and sand.
The head carries 8 kg, which covers a mirrorless body with a lens as well as a built-up cine rig with monitor, transmitter and battery. The bowl is a standard 75 mm, so the head moves onto another 75 mm tripod or slider and back.
Three extending sections put the camera at 1800 mm, just under six feet, and lay it down at 250 mm near the ground. Folded, the set measures 749.5 mm and weighs 4.43 kg with the head, so it fits a normal tripod bag.
The head has a dual receiving platform: it takes a Manfrotto-type plate as well as an Arca-Swiss plate in the DJI standard, so moving from head to gimbal needs no plate swap. The centre of gravity slides front and back, and the platform can be replaced with Tilta’s extended 8" dovetail plate, which the manufacturer is still preparing.
The side of the tripod carries 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 threads with anti-rotation locking. They hold an arm with a monitor, a light, a tablet or phone clamp, or serve as support for heavier gear. The whole Cine Tripod series is built to work from −50 °C to +60 °C.
The Tilta 75mm Cine Fluid Head is a professional tripod system with a load capacity of up to 8 kg, providing excellent stability for film setups. To maximize the potential of this head, it is recommended to pair it with compatible rigs, focus systems, and mounting accessories that ensure perfect balance and smooth camera movement.
