Tilta 75mm Cine Fluid Head with 2-Stage One Touch Carbon Fiber Tripod Legs (8KG) - Space Gray

The Tilta CT08A combines a 75 mm fluid head with two-stage carbon fiber legs in one set for film and documentary work. The One Touch lock releases both stages of a leg with a single lever, so the height is set in seconds. Counterbalance has eight steps and balances up to 8 kg, while drag is set in four steps separately for tilt and pan. The camera stands from 810 mm to 1785 mm and the whole set weighs 6.25 kg. The Tilta CT08A is the Cine Tripod variant for anyone who sets a tripod up and takes it down several times a day: a 75 mm fluid head and two-stage carbon fiber legs with a One Touch lock, where a single lever releases both stages of a leg at once. The head is CNC-machined from aerospace-grade aluminium alloy, the legs are filament wound carbon fiber.

One Touch — one lever per whole leg

The legs have two extending stages and a single lever per leg that releases both at once. That removes the opening and closing of locks stage by stage, the most tiresome part of tripod work when you move between setups. The tubes are filament wound carbon fiber and carry 50 kg; the leg angle is held by a mid-level spreader.

Arca and Manfrotto on one platform

The head has a dual receiving platform: it takes a Manfrotto-type plate as well as an Arca-Swiss plate in the DJI standard, so moving from head to gimbal needs no plate swap. The centre of gravity slides front and back, and the platform can be replaced with Tilta’s extended dovetail plate, which the manufacturer offers as an optional accessory.

Eight counterbalance steps, four drag steps

Counterbalance has eight steps and balances rigs up to 8 kg. Drag is set separately for tilt and for pan, four steps on each axis. The head tilts from +90° to −60°, so a low shot looking up and a steep shot looking down both work without rebuilding the rig.

Expansion threads on the side

The side of the tripod carries 3/8"-16 and 1/4"-20 threads with anti-rotation locking. They hold an arm with a monitor, a light, a tablet or phone clamp, or serve as support for heavier gear. The manufacturer supplies a 1/4"-20 adapter for the 3/8"-16 thread.

Aerospace alloy, in-house CNC machining

The head is CNC-machined from aerospace-grade aluminium alloy in Tilta’s own factory, from the first part to final assembly. That is where the accuracy comes from, and why damping stays even across the whole tilt travel — on screen it reads as a calm move with no jolt at either end.

From −50 °C to +60 °C

The whole Cine Tripod series is built to work from −50 °C to +60 °C. The damping fluid in the head neither thickens in frost nor thins in the sun, and the drag stays where you set it — in the mountains, in the desert and on a freezing morning outside town.

From mirrorless to cine camera

The head carries 8 kg, which covers a mirrorless body with a lens as well as a built-up cine rig with monitor, transmitter and battery. The camera stands from 810 mm up to 1785 mm; folded, the set measures 168 × 164.5 × 912 mm and weighs 6.25 kg, so it fits a normal tripod bag.

75 mm and 100 mm bowl

The legs take a head with a 75 mm bowl as well as a 100 mm one — the larger standard mounts through a removable adapter. The head therefore moves onto another tripod or slider, and conversely these legs accept the head you already own. The spreader sits at mid level and holds the leg angle even on a smooth floor.
