Thypoch Eureka 50mm f/2 Brass is a full-frame manual Leica M lens with a classic collapsible construction and a chrome-plated brass body. Its natural 50mm perspective, f/2 maximum aperture and 12-blade diaphragm combine a vintage imaging character with practical use for street, portrait, documentary and travel photography. The lens itself weighs approximately 218g; it is 27mm long when collapsed and 41.2mm in use.

Vintage handling, considered optics
All substantial information from the original description is retained: the lens offers direct manual focusing, accepts Leica A36 push-on filters, and its 50mm perspective suits intimate portraits, street, travel and documentary work. The f/2 maximum aperture supports work in lower light, while the 12-blade diaphragm creates a soft, aesthetically pleasing out-of-focus rendering.
The optical construction uses six elements in four Double Gauss groups. The manufacturer specifies an ED element to reduce chromatic aberration and an HRI element to correct field curvature and spherical aberration. Modern coatings complement the retro optical character; there is no electronic image stabilisation.
Optical design and contrast transfer
The manufacturer diagram shows a classic 6-element, 4-group Double Gauss design. One ED and one HRI element help correct chromatic aberration, field curvature and spherical aberration, while the MTF chart describes contrast transfer across the image field.
