The silver Thypoch Simera 50mm f/1.4 for Leica M is a compact manual full-frame lens for portraits, street work, reportage, travel and video. Its f/1.4 aperture and 14-blade diaphragm support low-light shooting and smooth out-of-focus rendering. A 0.45 m minimum focus distance, floating optical group and switchable clicked or clickless aperture give precise control for both stills and filmmaking.

A silver manual lens with a natural 50mm perspective, fast f/1.4 aperture and compact all-metal body for everyday visual storytelling.
On a Leica M rangefinder, the lens remains compact and easy to handle. Its 50mm focal length gives a natural field of view for portraits, reportage and everyday photography.

This official Simera 50mm series sample illustrates selective focus and natural rendering beyond the focus plane. It is a manufacturer image example, not a photograph of this specific colour variant.
The Thypoch Simera 50mm f/1.4 Lens for Leica M-mount cameras blends timeless design with advanced optical engineering. Designed for full-frame photography, this versatile normal-length prime is ideal for portraits, street photography, travel, and everyday shooting. Its fully manual focus construction offers precise control, while a close minimum focusing distance of 17.7" (45 cm) enables detailed close-up compositions beyond traditional rangefinder limits.
Optimized for both photographers and videographers, the lens features a convenient aperture de-click switch on the barrel, allowing seamless transitions between clicked and smooth aperture adjustments. The fast f/1.4 maximum aperture excels in low-light conditions and produces shallow depth of field with smooth subject separation. A 14-blade diaphragm enhances bokeh quality, creating round, pleasing highlights.
The optical design incorporates 8 elements in 6 groups, including one aspherical element, one extra-low dispersion (ED) element, and three high-refractive index (HRI) elements. This configuration effectively minimizes spherical and chromatic aberrations while maintaining excellent sharpness and color accuracy. High refractive index multilayer coatings improve light transmission up to T1.5, delivering vibrant images with strong contrast.
A built-in resistance reminder provides tactile feedback when reaching 0.7m, alerting users that focusing is approaching the rangefinder limit and encouraging switching to EVF for closer focusing precision.
Compact and lightweight at just 9.9 oz (281g), the Simera 50mm f/1.4 is a refined everyday companion for Leica M shooters seeking character, clarity, and creative flexibility.
