The advanced second-generation Tamron 25-200 mm F/2.8–5.6 G2 (model A075) all-in-one lens is the successor to the highly acclaimed Tamron 28-200 mm F/2.8–5.6 Di III RXD lens. The new model retains its compact dimensions while extending the wide-angle range from 28 mm to 25 mm and maintaining the 200 mm telephoto range.
It offers improved image quality and faster, more accurate autofocus thanks to the VXD linear focusing mechanism. With a maximum magnification of 1:1.9 at the wide end of 25 mm , the lens also offers semi-macro photography. This versatile zoom lens combines portability with uncompromising performance, supporting the creative expression of everyone from beginners to professionals.
Di III - Mirrorless Systems
These lenses are designed exclusively for mirrorless cameras and cannot be used with digital SLR cameras.
G2 Second Generation
A new generation of lenses with improved performance, faster focusing, better image stabilization, and higher-quality finishes.
VXD
VXD autofocus is a world first: it is the first linear focusing motor developed by Tamron for excellent autofocusing. Two VXD modules, which operate in a floating system and are controlled by electronic pulses, ensure fast and accurate focusing on both near and distant objects. The new motor also guarantees improved AF tracking, for example when shooting sports. Autofocus is so quiet that you can shoot even in situations that require complete peace and quiet.
MR - Splash Protection
Tamron lenses feature a weather-resistant coating that optimally protects the sensitive interior from wind and weather. The robust outer casing is effectively sealed against moisture ingress at all critical points (e.g., between the focus ring and the bayonet mount). This ensures reliable operation even in the most adverse outdoor shooting conditions.
XLD
Similar to LD, it prevents chromatic aberration and other defects. However, XLD is a much more sophisticated system that is mostly used in telephoto zoom lenses.
Special LD optical elements
Color aberration is a common optical defect that manifests itself in many ways. We often talk about so-called chromatic aberration, which occurs more frequently with wide-angle lenses. LD elements are made of special optical glass with extremely low light dispersion, which effectively compensates for color defects, especially noticeable when using telephoto lenses at their extreme position.
IF - Internal Focusing
With internal focusing lenses, the length of the lens does not change during focusing and the filter ring does not rotate with it. This makes handling easier, especially with longer telephoto zoom lenses, as well as shooting with polarizing and graduated filters. Other advantages include a shorter focusing distance throughout the focus range, less light loss in the corners of the image (vignetting), and less aberration related to focusing. Anti-reflective and high-tech coatings - FLR
A fluoride coating permanently protects the front lens from contamination. Oil and water droplets do not adhere to the surface, which is therefore very easy to clean.
BBAR / BBAR G2
The BBAR coating prevents reflection and scattering of light hitting the lens surface. You avoid loss of brightness and contrast and prevent "ghosting." The BBAR coating also contributes to natural color rendering. Since 2019, the advanced BBAR G2 coating has been used.
ASL - Aspherical Lenses
The abbreviation "ASL" (ASpherical Lens) refers to hybrid aspherical lens elements. They correct typical aberrations in zoom lenses, such as spherical aberrations (sharpness errors). In addition, you can replace several other optical elements, allowing for a more compact design and consistently high image quality.
Tamron Lens Utility
The new "TAMRON Lens Utility" software was developed specifically for configuring compatible lenses. TAMRON Lens Utility can be controlled via a computer by connecting the lens from its connector port using a TAMRON USB-C cable. Users can customize functions and update firmware via the lens. Individual settings allow the lens to be optimally adapted to the respective shooting situation, such as photography or video recording.
ZL - Zoom Lock
ZOOM LOCK allows you to lock the lens at the shortest focal length to prevent it from extending.
5-year warranty
Tamron offers its customers an extended warranty program of 2 + 3 years. To receive a special warranty certificate, the lens must be purchased through an official Tamron dealer. To claim the extended 5-year warranty, proof of purchase and a registration certificate must be provided. www.5years.tamron.eu
