TheSony FE PZ 28-135mm f/4 G OSS is a top-of-the-line entry-level G-series transfocal (zoom) lens for silent video shooting with powerful OSS optical stabilisation. It is designed for Sony NEX/ALPHA Full Frame Compact System Cameras (CSC).

The Sony FE PZ 28-135mm f/4 OSS lens is a high-end stabilized Sony G-series base transfocal (zoom) lens equipped with a Sony E-Mountbayonet .

It is designed for Sony NEX/ALPHA compact system cameras (CSC) with Full Frame sensor size.

The lens has an extremely versatile focal length range: 28-135mm (42-202.5mm on NEX/ALPHA cameras with an APS-C sensor), a top-of-the-line G-series optical system, powerful OSS image stabilization, constant f/4

aperture over the entire focal length range, a 9-blade contoured aperture for perfect background blur - bokeh, a fast and extremely quiet autofocus stepper motor, a rugged lightweight aluminum alloy construction, and professional-grade sealing.

The G-Series lens optical system is designed to focus from as close as 40cm

, providing 0.15x image magnification.

It consists of 18 lenses arranged in 12 groups. The optical system uses 5 specially shaped lenses with aspherical surface and 3 lenses made of special low dispersion ED glass.

The angle of view of the lens at 28mm is 75° and at 135mm it is 18°, then when mounted on Sony NEX/ALPHA models with APS-C sensors it is 54° at 42mm and 12° at 202.5mm.

The lens has excellent aperture, which is constant across the focal length range and starts at f/4. To work with depth of field, you can zoom all the way to f/22

. The lens features a powerful OSS optical image stabiliser and a fast autofocus system that relies on an extremely quiet stepper focusing motor.

The lens' high-end optics are housed in a tube made of lightweight and extremely strong aluminium alloy. Its mechanical construction is very robust and is professionally sealed against the ingress of dust and moisture into the lens interior. There is no change in lens length when focusing and zooming, and the lens itself weighs only 1215g at 101.6 x 165.1mm.

The front of the lens is threaded for conventional 95mm diameter circular filters, which do not rotate making it easy to use transition and polarising filters.
