Sony AN-01

Log-periodic antenna with a built-in low-noise booster for Sony fixed receivers and antenna dividers such as the DWX series (DWR-R03D, DWR-R02D) or the WD-850A. It covers the 470 to 862 MHz band. The booster gain switches between 18, 10 and 0 dB, the antenna takes 9 or 12 V power from the receiver over the coaxial cable, and two antennas are used for diversity reception.

Directional antenna with its own booster

The log-periodic antenna is aimed at the transmitters and in that direction improves reception sensitivity compared with an omnidirectional antenna. The built-in low-noise booster compensates for losses in a long coaxial cable.

The receiver powers the booster

The antenna connects by coaxial cable to the BNC connector of a receiver or antenna divider, which supplies it with 9 or 12 V over the same cable. Gain switches between 18, 10 and 0 dB; in the REMOTE position the voltage sets it: 9 V gives 10 dB, 12 V gives 18 dB.

Two antennas for diversity

For diversity reception AN-01 antennas are used in pairs, at least about 1.5 m above the floor, at least 1 to 2 m apart and with the tip pointing at the transmitters.

On a stand or in the hand

The pole/grip has a PF1/2 thread and adapters to 5/8" and 3/8" are included; the vertical tilt of the antenna is adjustable.

The Sony AN-01 is a directional UHF antenna for Sony analogue and digital wireless microphone systems.
