The SmallRig CINE White Mist 1/4 diffusion filter comes in the 4 x 5.65" format for a matte box, not a lens thread. It blooms highlights around lamps into a soft glow and smooths skin; unlike Black Mist it lifts the image and opens shadows.

A diffusion filter scatters the light passing through and takes the hard edges off the picture without blurring it. Highlights around lamps and reflections bleed into a gentle glow, skin softens and the image picks up the feel of older lenses. The effect happens in the glass itself, so it responds to the real light in the scene.

White Mist is the lighter relative of Black Mist: it diffuses light in much the same way, but rather than lowering contrast it tends to lift the image and keep the shadows open. The 4×5.65″ format goes in a matte box, not on a lens thread.
