F1.2 aperture for dusk and soft backgrounds

The wide aperture lets more light reach the sensor, so at dusk you can stay at a lower ISO and a faster shutter speed. The shallow depth of field separates the subject from the blurred background.

Equivalent to 113 mm on full frame

The 75 mm focal length on an APS-C sensor roughly matches 113 mm on full frame. It suits portraits, emotion, close-ups, still life, animals, plants and more distant subjects.

F1.2 and 15 aperture blades

Even wide open at F1.2 the subject stays sharp, while the background melts into a soft bokeh shaped by the 15-blade aperture. The aperture is set from F1.2 to F16.

Fast and quiet STM autofocus

The STM motor focuses accurately, quickly and quietly. The lens supports the camera's Eye AF, which keeps the eyes sharp even with a moving subject, and minimal focus breathing makes it suitable for video too.

White version: ceramic coating

The barrel has a ceramic coating. Electronic contacts pass data to the camera, the USB-C port is for firmware updates and the focus ring turns through 360°. A round lens hood is included.
