EW-DX SKM-S R1-9 is a rugged handheld transmitter with a programmable mute switch, persistent E-Ink display and standard interface for compatible Sennheiser and Neumann capsules. It is sold without a microphone capsule.

The R1-9 variant operates from 520 to 607.8 MHz. Fixed 10 mW RF power provides up to 100 m range, while SePAC transmission offers 134 dB dynamic range and 1.9 ms latency. Settings can be controlled on the transmitter or synchronised through the receiver via Bluetooth Low Energy.
Runtime reaches up to 12 hours with a BA 70 rechargeable battery or up to 8 hours with two AA batteries. Charging contacts support in-device charging in a CHG 70N.
The standard interface accepts MMD 835-1, MMD 845-1, MMD 935-1, MMD 945-1, MME 865-1, MMK 965-1, MM 435, MM 445 and Neumann KK 204/205 among others. The selected capsule determines pickup pattern and sound.
