Sennheiser MZQ 02

The Sennheiser MZQ 02 is a clip for MKE 2 lavalier microphones, in black. It holds the microphone on a lapel, a shirt placket or the edge of a pocket and keeps it at the angle you set — which matters more on a lavalier than anywhere else, because a few degrees off to the side costs noticeable level. It is sold on its own as a spare: clips get lost and broken long before the microphones they belong to. Black disappears against dark clothing, which is the usual requirement on a shoot.

A lavalier pointed a few degrees off to the side is noticeably quieter. The MZQ 02 keeps it where you set it, even as the speaker moves or sits down.

The spare that runs out first

Clips get lost in the bag, break when kit is stripped down, and stay behind on borrowed jackets. This one is bought on its own, so a lost clip does not become a microphone problem. Black disappears against dark clothing.
