The Sekonic L-478DR is a groundbreaking exposure meter, recognized as the world’s first touch-sensitive light meter. Designed for professionals in photography, film, and video production, it combines advanced functionality with an intuitive user experience through its large 2.7" color touchscreen LCD. Users can easily control settings by tapping or swiping, making operation fast and efficient in any shooting environment.
This versatile meter supports both ambient and flash light measurement, including incident and reflected metering methods. Its rotating receptor head (90° right, 180° left) allows flexible positioning for accurate readings in complex lighting setups. With built-in PocketWizard Control TTL technology, the L-478DR enables wireless triggering and control of compatible flash systems, streamlining studio and on-location workflows.
The device offers a wide range of measurement modes, including photo modes such as aperture priority, shutter priority, and EV metering, as well as HD Cine and Cine modes tailored for video production. It also delivers precise readings across an extensive range of lighting conditions, from very low light to extremely bright environments.
Additional features include memory storage for up to nine readings, support for a wide ISO range up to 409,600, and detailed measurement outputs in lux, footcandles, and brightness units.
