RGBlink MSP 318-4

The RGBlink MSP 318-4 is a miniature transmitter and receiver set that carries an HDMI 1.4 signal over optical fibre: up to 2,000 m over single-mode fibre (200 m with HDCP) and up to 300 m over OM3 multi-mode fibre. Both units plug straight into an HDMI port, have an LC connector and are powered by the included 5 V USB adapters. Resolutions up to 3840 × 2160 at 30 Hz.

The transmitter plugs into the HDMI output of the source, the receiver into the input of the display, and a single optical fibre runs between them. No extra boxes – the set suits places with little space as well as mobile use.

Transmitter and receiver right in the HDMI port

The units measure just 60 × 22 × 11 mm and weigh 60 g. The transmitter (SOURCE) plugs into the source, the receiver (DISPLAY) into the display or another device; both have an integrated LC connector for the optical fibre.

One fibre for both directions

The MSP 318-4 uses a single optical fibre for both directions. The optical source is a 1310/1550 nm laser diode with a built-in WDM filter, and the transmission speed is 10.2 Gb/s; the optical link resists electromagnetic interference.

Resolutions and EDID

The set carries SMPTE resolutions up to 1080p at 50/60 Hz and VESA up to 3840 × 2160 at 30 Hz and is HDCP compatible. With HDCP it reaches 200 m over single-mode fibre, without HDCP 2,000 m. EDID management is available via the micro USB port.

The RGBlink MSP 318-4 Fiber Extender Set enables reliable long-distance HDMI signal transmission far beyond the limits of standard copper cables.
